I'm an engineering student in uni and for coursework, I had to use an arbitrary load value generated from my student ID. Now me being me I wrote down the wrong load. Literally, everything else is correct: all the equations and the answers using the (incorrect) load. This meant that I got a 2nd instead of a first as each answer mark was taken from me. A lecturer says they give partial credit but I believe this is unfair. Shouldn't I be given full credit and have the marks taken off only at the point of the error? I am sure this is what happened at A-levels.
