Module B: 75 (first)
Module C: 48 (third)

Second semester
10 credit module:
10 credit module:

20 credit module:

What grades would I need to have a first overall?
Being specific I’m at Coventry university studying biomedical science
I’m not sure how the weighting will affect the averages but my current plan is to try and get at least 72% and above to compensate the bad grade

You're averaging 65 over 60 credits, ie half the year. To average 70 overall you therefore need to average 75 in the remaining 60 credits.

Would the university round up the grades if I say got like 69.5 etc?

Probably not for individual years, but there will be rules about rounding your final average. The details will be in your degree regulations.

Thank you for your post.

Please find guidance around class degree classification and how this is calculated on the 'Academic Regulations' page on the Coventry University website. The relevant information you're looking for is under Section 5: Regulations for the Assessment of Students.

To achieve a first, you would need a minimum of 70% and above.
To my understanding, the university has two methods of calculating overall class degree classification and both methods will be used. The method which secures you the highest grade is what you will be awarded. Alternatively, there is a post 'Calculating honours Degree Classification Coventry University' which summaries how degree classification is determined.

I hope you find this useful!
