Help/Advice required GCSE

About to be 2 months since I've moved to London and due to seats unavailability, I am unable to find admission for year 11 GCSE. My current age is 15 year 11 months and I do fear that post-16 years (which is due next month.) will I be considered eligible to get in-year admission for GCSE year 11. We have reached to schools, council, advisory bureau, local MLA, and due to holidays there seems to be a delay to get conclusive answer from any of the agencies. Kindly help with our next course of action.Thank you !

i think you'l just have to wait for the end of the holidays for a response.

the DOB range for current year 11s is 01/09/2005 to 31/08/2006 and so you would qualify for year 11 (i think? correct me if my maths is wrong!)

you've contacted the right people, but im not sure how easy it will be to get a place considering it is mid year 11 now and gcses etc

good luck, do post about how you get on!

The LA has to find you a place ,,, that is the law. Chase this in January - it may not be a school you want but they have to find you a school.

Thanks alot for the reply ! Means alot to know that there are people ready to help. Anyway as said, the borough replied with an option about EOTAS(education other than school) . I did look it up and I match none of the conditions for EOTAS admissions. This does not seem convincing. And theres no surety that I will be taken into a mainstream sixth form after completing my gcse in an EOTAS. I am quite worried about my mainstream schooling. Thanks again ! (edited to fix a typo.)

But if it's your only chance of being registered for GCSEs this year it may be your best bet. They're not likely to let you into Year 11 next year as you will already be 16.

Exactly. The reason im so concerned to get admission in gcse as soon as possible. Or the borough ain't responsible for getting my admission done for sixth form. But seriously... EOTAs really does not seem like a viable option. I match none of the criterias which are checked to decide if a student should be in EOTAS or not. How about remote learning though? Many schools are already doing remote learning, I may get admission in mainstream school this way? Also could it be that due to this festive holiday season the borough gave me this option without putting any thought and only a hasty decision?

Hey so updating my situation. I live in redbridge borough and we appealed to the borough and we got a "Redbridge alternate provision" (RAP) as another option. There was a conversation in person between my mom and a teacher at RAP. He said they'll only teach english and maths and its for all students overseas who came to England in mid-11th year. He also said if i do the last level of RAP known as functional skill 2 (for 6 months since theres final exams to june) its equal to gcse and i can get direct enrollment to mainstream sixth form this september. And if theres no problems entering university in future without the main gcse and the functional 2 thing. So, please advice if this is the right path we've been advised for. Or if there will be any issues during sixth form/university admission. Thanks for all previous inputs !
