Diamond mining EPQ help

Hi all, I'm currently writing my EPQ and my title is
'How has diamond mining in Africa affected the
environment and the local population' this may
need to become more specific eg. Only within
Botswana/ the Congo. I have written about the
environmental side of it like mining methods and
how they effect the environment (pollute water, air and contribute to climate change and
deforestation) however diamonds that are mined in Africa are then flown out to other companies that then sell them on and after that they are
completely untraceable. If you have any resources or advice on how I'm going to find more information about diamond slavery please let me know. I also have to complete primary research and so I have to make a survey- any tips on the questions I could ask please let me know as I can't really ask 'do you know if your diamonds were mind ethically?' as you can't find out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

For primary research, You could email a diamond specialist or jewellers asking their opinions about it. Not sure what your chances of getting a reply are.

Yes I think having an interview rather than a survey may be a better idea - thank you for the ideas
