How do you revise for poetry?

Start by familiarising yourself with the basic meaning of the poems - look into the themes and intentions of the poet
See if you can then link these themes/ intentions with other poems in the anthology
Find the similarities and differences e.g. how do both poems portray the theme of childhood
Find past papers or create questions of your own and create essay plans - on flashcards or maybe as a mind map
This is what I usually do and I got an A in my last mock

which exam board and poems do you do? i suggest reviewing your annotations often and make essay plans on different poetry comparisons for different questions. also if youre doing unseen poetry look at some unseen poetry so you wouldve had some practice before the actual exam of different poems that youre unfamiliar with and use those to make comparisons with the poems youre studying
