Competitive friend-am I being paranoid?

I woke up at 3pm, she woke up at 10am. She has been revising since the morning I started in the afternoon. She rang saying she was sleepy and going to bed then said why don't you sleep too. I was like well I woke up late so I'm sleeping late. She goes what r u gonna do and I said revise and she just goes okkkk in a really mocking tone. Also yesterday she said maybe you should just get to bed and said she was doing the same. Then let it slip she had downed two mugs of coffee to stay up. Well then why advise me to sleep? Starting to think she just wants to get ahead and can't handle me working and her sleeping. I am gonna RIP HER APART in the upcoming exams

Why do I need to get a life? For gods sake, I'm trying to higlight how annoying it is...she is always breathing down my neck asking me how much work I've done, playing down how much she has done, trying to encourage me to waste time...

You lost, sorry.

Maybe next time for the gold, eh?

cor lol ... very competitive !!! are you two real friends? cos that sounds like summat I'd wanna do with my worst enemy... ''rip them apart'' -/-

Well no after this she certainly isn't a friend. I have really tried to help her, motivating her to work, congratulating her when she finishes something but clearly she has a different agenda.

Just do what you want to do and take what she says with a grain of salt, and if you think she just wants to kick your ass in the exams, then just work twice as hard as her and kick her ass!
Well that's what I'd do... don't get paranoid and don't overanalyse.

I don't hope that. Your thread is pointless anyway.

No one's forcing you to read it or comment?

Well OP, you really shouldn't care about these kinda things, it's a bit pointless. I am quite lazy compared to many of my friends in terms of studies, but don't let that affect you-work as hard as you can, and do as well as possible in the exams! It doesn't matter what your friend gets really...

...unless the competition is your biggest source of motivation :ninja:

Haha you seem to get wound up such little things!

What is this for? GCSEs? A levels? Whatever it is it isn't worth it, seriously, you need to make time for yourself. Revising all the time means you'll burn out. It's quite nerdy though, can't you compete over something... I don't know.... fun?

Reply 18

Ignore her man. Whatever. People can get competitive sometimes and if you don't want to get involved just ignore it and lead your life as you normally would.

Thanks for your advice. Yep you're right it is probably pointless but I feel really on edge around her cause she keeps bringing up work and comparing notes and putting me off revising , it just hurts how low some people will stoop
