would i be likely to recieve this offer (manchester)??????

at UoM, i qualify for the contextual admission flag called the WP flag and it states: "should you meet our standard academic entry criteria you would be recommended to receive additional consideration but would not be eligible for a contextual offer. Additional consideration may be given around your personal statement or interview or at the point of confirmation. For certain courses, if your predicted grades are within one grade of our minimum entry requirements, you may still be made an offer at the standard entry requirements. For example, if the entry requirements for your chosen course are ABB and your predicted grades are BBB you may be made an offer of ABB."

i want to apply to biochemistry with BBB predicteds, and they require ABB. is it likely that i'll be made an offer seeing as it's only one grade

As long as your personal statement is really good, and if you have an interview you smash it, i don’t see any reason why not.

Worst case scenario they’ll let you in via clearing but i think you’ll be given an offer 💪🏻💪🏻

I have worked extensively with the widening participation team at UoM and am very familiar with their policies. Is is possible to receive an offer 2 grade boundaries lower than what the course is asking for with the policies, for example, a course requiring AAB can potentially be reduced to BBB. The first grade reduction is if you're considered 'WP+ flag" which you can find out using this link (https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/contextual-admissions/admissions/eligibility/). The second point reduction would be if you're considered 'WP++ flag" so either you grew up in foster care or if you have refugee status (https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/contextual-admissions/admissions/explaining-contextual-flags/).

If you have received a WP flag it means you come from an area of low progression when compared to the national average obtained from the ACORN database (https://acorn.caci.co.uk), however, you don't meet the criteria to get a reduced offer. These flags are calculated based on the information you provided to UCAS.

Given your situation, they may make a standard offer but it wouldn't hurt to write to the undergraduate admissions office and give them a bit of context as to why your predicted grades are less than the standard offer and why they should take a chance on you. For each course they have different rules. The ability to give an offer is completely at the discretion of the admission's office and given the recent backlog of students applying for courses you may find it exceptionally competitive.

Let me know if you need any help

Hi, I just have a quick question if you don’t mind.
I checked and I am considered for only WP. My question is I got GCSE maths at grade 5, and I’ll resit it this year to get higher, so Does that WP flag will apply if I said to them to delay their decision until January as my GCSE result will come up?
Thanks
