    The points A (-4, -2) B (6, 4) and C (4, -4) are the vertices of triangle ABC. Point D is the midpoint of AB

    Find an equation for the line passing through A and B in the form ax+by+c=0 where a b and c are intergers.

    I got this to be -5x - 3y -2 = 0 but then the next question confused me...

    Show that CD is parrallel to the line with equation 10x - 6y +7 = 0 because CD'S equation is the one i worked out above yet i thought if they were parallel they would have the same gradien but they do not so im confused.

    Can anyone help?

    U got equation for AB or CD? If it's CD's equation, I guess u were wrong somewhere.

    Check your answer to the first part again.

    I worked it though, the gradient of the line 10x - 6y + 7 = 0 is parallel to CD.
    AB is a different line altogether.

    yes the first part is 0 = 3x -5y +12

    then work out midpoint (D) and find gradient CD.
    rearrange 10x - 6y + 7 = 0 to find the gradient of this line. the two shoudl be equal
