Hi all, just a quick questions.
Has anyone actually got into a top level Russel group university without actually meeting the required entry requirements?
Same question goes for lower level universities?

And how far or close were you to the entry requirements?

Nephew got into Durham for business with ABB instead of the required AAB. He already had his actual grades when he applied. This was pre-pandemic.

In past years many have got in with 1 or 2 grades below. It is unlikely you will get in lower for an RG university. However due to grade inflation due to CAGs universities might be stricter this year.

Yes, many thousands of students get into RG unis below their published grades. It's likely to be another unpredictable year so I would not look for anecdotal guidance regarding specific courses though.
