So I’m currently taking biology, chemistry and French at a-level but I’ve always wanted to do this at university. Should I take it or would I not be able to because I am not taking essay-based subjects at a-level? Is it worth taking politics or not? I really don’t want to take science at university.

At the bare minimum, so long as you can prove in your personal statement that politics and international relations is a course you're passionate about, you shouldn't encounter too many difficulties.

Hi!

I think it shouldn't be that much of an issue. Just to make sure though I would check entry requirements for the universities you would like to go to and/or email the admissions team and ask if it would be alright. That way you can easily make sure it is not going to be an issue for you when you start applying.
I would recommend doing something regarding politics in your free time though, as that will definitely help your application.

Hope this helps

Useful "Applying for Poltics" article here - https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/politics_degree

For many Unis you don't need any specific subjects for Politics - examples :
Sussex - http://www.sussex.ac.uk/politics/ugstudy/prospectus
Liverpool - https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/study/un...hons/overview/
Bath - https://www.bath.ac.uk/courses/under...2022/politics/
but obviously you need to be able to show an academic interest in studying Poltics in your PS.
