I have been working part time at a kitchen job in a restaurant for 4/5 months now, for the past two months it has been complete hell. I have been worked to death, trying to balance three peoples jobs as the new employees aren’t doing their job properly. I have been sobbing after every shift and hardly sleeping, now getting ulcers from stress. I have three shifts left before I leave for 5 months on study abroad but I genuinely never want to set foot in that place again. I don’t care about getting a reference as the manager is awful at his job anyway. Should I quit? What should I say?

I feel that it is a good idea to quit. It is definitely not worth feeling like **** and stressing about it every day - there are also plenty of better working environments out there.
Definitely take some time to relax before you leave for your study abroad.
I think that it is best to be honest about the reason for your resignation, so as to give the manager an insight/feedback regarding the current toxic working environment and stress that the job has put you through.
Hope everything works out for you!
