I am going to take Higher Spanish, but I really don't like Spanish that much. I'm doing fine in it, but I would prefer to take French. I haven't taken Nat 5 French, but I have a language brain, and with the additional year, can probably get myself to a stage where I can take Higher French. Has anyone done this and is this an absolutely terrible idea? I would quite like to study French and Linguistics (or something I don't know) at uni, but a Nat 5 in French is necessary. Would a Higher French count for that and I believe you apply after S5, so how would I apply with Higher French if I haven't taken it until S6? Thanks!

I would talk to your teachers/ a careers advisor if your school has one or even go as far as to email unis you’re thinking of applying to and ask them as they might have different approaches to admissions
