Questions 7 and 8. I thought the answers were A and C, but the solutions say they are B and A. Anyone know why?

For Q7 - the mass is a red herring. It doesn't say specific heat capacity, it just says heat capacity, that means that the mass has already been accounted for.
For Q8 - there is no potential energy in an ideal gas. it's just infinitesimally small perfectly elastic particles bouncing around. It's all kinetic energy.
