Hi Beck17!

We are so happy to hear that you will be starting at DMU in September! Congratulations!

You can find information about travelling to DMU here: Travel to DMU
We sadly are unable to offer student parking here at DMU due to the university's location to Leicester town centre; parking in a student city can often be tricky!

However, these two links may be able to help with finding affordable and safe parking: Leicester Council and Leicester Mercury.

Hopefully, this information helps and please get in touch if you have any questions!

Hi, these links are a little out of date. Recently there has been increase in the price of parking everywhere. Could you provide more updated parking advice?
Thank you.

Not yet. DMU sells parking but it’s expensive and sells out really quickly. The only street I have so far is Easter boulevard by One stop. Still looking for cheaper options.

Hiya!

We do offer student car park permits for purchase for our current DMU students and these monthly permits can be bought through the DMU online store and for more details and to reserve your permit check out the link below

https://store.dmu.ac.uk/product-catalogue/estates-department/estates

With a student permit, you'll be able to park in all university car parks, except for Bede Hall of Residence, Trinity House, and Beaumont Park

However, as others have mentioned, these permits can be quite popular, so it’s worth considering if the cost is worthwhile based on how often you're scheduled to be on campus.

Alternatively, there are public parking spots as well as multi stories available around the city. While you might have to walk, since DMU is just off from the city centre, the walk to campus is generally only about 10-15 minutes. Plus you could always have a quick mooch around the city on your way back to your car.

I asked a friend of mine who commutes and they park at the NCP on St Augustine Road (near the Holiday Inn), where they offer all-day parking for £5.95, which seems like a good deal.

I hope this helps!
