Hi, I just wanted some advice. It’s possible that I may be offered an apprenticeship for
my AAT studies soon. I’ve applied for multiple apprenticeships with different companies and firms. Two seem to be really advanced. The one I think I will be offered first is a good offer and I would ordinarily take it without hesitation. But… I received a response from a firm showing interest in taking me on. Their application process will take another month or so whereas I expect the first one to be wrapped up in another week. My question is, since neither are confirmed should I take this offer from the first company if I receive it and not pursue the second opportunity despite it being better? Or shall I accept the first offer and whilst employed keep the second opportunity open until receiving a formal offer and then switch employers? Is this allowed? The first apprenticeship is through Kaplan and the second through First Intuition. Thank you.

If it fits your preferences and requirements, I’d go with your first instinct.
Does the relative benefit of the alternative degree apprenticeship warrant the risk? It doesn’t sound so, given you would have accepted the offer without hesitation if ignorant of an alternative.
The risk isn’t just a measure of whether your receive an offer, the employer may change the scheme, reduce the intake, or straight up cancel or postpone the scheme.
