I'm in year 12 and i want to redo the year as I've picked English language as an a level but I hate it and I know i won't get a good grade but is it worth retaking it a year? i know there's fastrack and hybrid but i just don't know which one is better and if it's worth it
thank you 🤪

Hi, I'm in year 13 right now! what I would say, and what I've recently realised myself, is that it is so much better to do what makes you happy, otherwise continuing to do something you no longer enjoy honestly socks your energy - energy better spent on something you like. So I think if you Are willing to, change the subject to one you enjoy more, that way once you complete it, you'll feel more fulfilled if that makes sense. oh hold on I may have misread your question, are you deciding on changing your English subject or redoing that year of English? If it's redoing the year of English, I think you could possibly wait to complete the exams for it this year and see how you do. If you aren't satisfied with the results then you could choose to redo the year? let me know how it all goes!!

hi thanks for replying! yes i want to drop English and choose something else but im just not sure if it will be too much stress as I'll end up doing 4 a levels
4 alevels? how come? do you already do 4, and you'll swap English for something else which will keep it 4 or have I misunderstood 😅

sorry i should have clarified, i currrently study law criminology and English language. i would have done a fast track which meant i would be doing AS level and A level which is what i meant by 4 🙃 hope that makes sense..

ahhh I see!! hmm, how would you feel about doing 4 alevels, how are your stress levels and how do you manage stress, think about if you genuinely think you are capable of taking 4 alevels. the school I went to, it wasn't recommended to take 4 alevels as 3 were hard enough. I think if your study ethic is good and you really think you could do it then you should, however, if the extra workload is likely to cause problems for you then it's probably better to drop english completely. you know yourself best so do what your heart is telling you
