Online BSc CS(UoL) or Online MSc(Conversion) CS - Liverpool, Bath or York

Hello everyone,

I think the University of Liverpool is just opening the Online MSc CS program. If I'm wrong, is there anyone who signed up for this program or knows about this program?

As a person in his early 30s who has already a bachelors degree in different field and wants to make a career change, I intend to both establish a good foundation in CS and gain a partial advantage in recruitment by crowning it with a degree. There are also those who say that no degree is required for this change, but I am one of those who think that a degree can provide more advantages in the long run. First of all I'm not sure if I would do this better with a Bachelors degree or a Masters degree. The Bachelors degree includes quite a few courses and seems more geared towards teaching basics. The Conversion Masters degree is said to be able to provide the same with fewer courses. However, since it is a Masters degree, it is said that it is very difficult for those who do not have a CS background to keep up with the pace of the courses, and this negatively affects their chances of success. What do you think about this?

University of London Online BSc CS program is the most reasonable program that I can find suitable for my budget as a Bachelors degree. There are those who say it is good for their education, and there are those who are not satisfied. However, I have concerns especially for post-graduation, as education will be provided by Goldsmiths. It seems to be quite behind in rankings and I think this can be a disadvantage in recruiting in the long run. I would appreciate it if you could share your views on this program and choosing this program for someone in my situation.

If we talk about the master's degree, the number of courses in Liverpool's curriculum is 8, excluding the final project and its preparation, and 6 of them seem to be more closely related to CS. The number of courses in Bath's curriculum is 11, excluding the final project and its preparation, and 10 of them seem to be more closely related to CS. In this case, Bath seems to be relatively more advantageous.

I couldn't find any reviews about Liverpool. From what I can tell from the comments, students in the Bath program are generally satisfied with the education provided. For York, the situation seems to be the opposite, it is said that it remains more theoretical and the assessments are mainly essay.

As of the date of this thread, York is the most advantageous with £8,160 as the Tuition Fee of the whole program. Bath follows with £13,000 and Liverpool at 15,300. In this case, Liverpool has almost doubled as York.

I would be very pleased if you could share your general views and suggestions regarding all of my post.

For computer science Bath easily has the best reputation out of three of Bath, Liverpool and York

I heard some good things about bath, but they're very math heavy. I just wanted to confirm on Liverpool since theirs is pretty new and the structure seems interesting according to their YouTube videos.

there are some reviews for AI here, but my colleagues from different study programmes at the same uni have similar impressions, so this could be valuable for you.
