Personal Statement for John Moores

Hi everyone, I am applying for the MA in international relations at John Moores. I really REALLY want to do an amazing personal statement, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice for writing their personal statement that got them admitted into LJMU (even better if it was for post-grad). Thanks!
Hello,

I know this was posted a while ago so hopefully you wrote a brilliant personal statement that no doubt would have got you accepted into LJMU! I just thought I would reply incase someone else was looking for advice.
I think the key to writing a good personal statement is to be confident in detailing your expertise and experience you’ve gathered- the purpose is to prove the value you would bring to your chosen university so do not be afraid to boast about how amazing you are 🙂
Planning your personal statement before you compose it is vital, so I would definitely begin this process much sooner than the deadline for applications (which you can find on your university / UCAS website!). Make drafts, edit them continuously and ask other people to proof read for you.
There is some great information on the UCAS website that you can access here : https://www.ucas.com/postgraduate/postgraduate-study/how-write-your-postgraduate-personal-statement
If you are applying for a postgraduate course, you will have already had experience in personal statements from your undergrad application. However, your personal statement for a masters will differentiate as you will need to detail your undergrad experience rather than what you discussed previously.
There is no secret method to composing personal statements, just believe in yourself and detail why you want to apply for the course, how you would be a great student and how your undergraduate experience made you want to apply.

Good luck to anyone writing their personal statements- you will do great
