A-Level to AS

If I take an A-level, can I ditch it at the end of Yr12 if I change my mind and can I get an AS grade for it instead?
Hello!
I am not sure how it works for normal A-Levels as I know that the final exam is at the end of year 13. However, you can do this if you do the International A-Levels. For example, I did Maths last year alongside the subjects I currently do and I did an exam and got a grade, even though I didn't continue with it to A2. For IALs, you can do your exam at the end of Year 12, get an AS mark and drop the subject in Year 13. IALs are known as 'modular' A-Levels, meaning you can take your exam(s) at any point of the year (Oct, Jan, June of Yr12 and Oct, Jan, June of Yr13).
I hope this helps
