Yes it is real chicken and yes it can be cooked from frozen. I"ve done it many times and I"m still here.:yep:
I doubt it is 100% chicken, you wil probably find that it is mainly water based and as a result when you cooked it will shrink to about three times less than when it was raw.

I'll stick to buy the more expensive chicken, chucking it in the freezer and take it out when I need it.

For me, there's nothing worse then cheap, processed meat.

I WOULD NEVER buy meat from Iceland.... I don't even know why.... You can just go to Sainsburys late before closing time and buy really good but reduced meat, season it and freeze it, thats what i do... you can always defrost in the microwave before cooking.. and YUM YUM in my TUM... :yep:
I buy the iceland frozen chicken and it's fine, it does shrink a bit when cooking but tastes the same as chicken from other supermarkets

This. If anything, I'd say less than ones from other supermarkets, never seems as watery to me. And I can be quite fussy.

Of course the best is always fresh from a butchers, but as that's not always possible, the roast from frozen joins are nice imo.
It does have loads of water in it - I tried some of those strips they have in the advert once and I ended up with a pan of water with some anaemic looking chicken bits floaing in it.
I guess it's ok if you can be bothered to keep draining it.

Iceland get nearly all of their meat products from places like Thailand, it will usually say on the back. There is obviously different laws and regulations on keeping livestock there too and that's why a lot of there stuff is nowhere to standard.

Why do you say this? Just because it's in a butcher's doesn't mean it's not exactly the same stuff, bought from the cash and carry. And why is fresh better than frozen neccessarily?

I'm pretty sure the bags of chicken say product of Brazil on the back...

Tastes ok and it's cheap. If you're on a budget then I don't see the issue.

I've only ever used the cubed stuff in things like curry or stir fry.

Do prefer to cook from fresh though

I mean proper chicken that hasn't been stuffed full of things and ended up with lots of water in. I presumed all butchers sell decent stuff, but then my local one does, so easy presumption to make.

It differs obviously on each product if you want to split hairs on it. My point is those countries have very low standards of keeping, feeding and killing livestock. That is the main reason the quality of food is so bad. Btw dont ever by pork from there:eek: unless you want a friend in your colon.

And that was my point too
...I was backing you up with a genuine example of where Iceland source thier meat from! Can't exactly back you up with Thailand when I've never read Thailand on the back of a packet.

Ooh sorry i buy more expensive chicken because i like to think more expensive things are better when that isn't the case they just put a few extra quid on top to make it seem like better stuff
