Glycoprotein = recognises other cells
Glycolipids = provides energy
Cholesterol = increases fluidity of cell membrane
Peripheral protein = provides structural support in cell membrane
Hydrophilic head = head contains phosphate group + attracts water
Hydrophobic tail = tail made of two fatty acids + repels water
