dental technician to dentistry

hello, I am a dental tech student in uk. I was planning to do dentistry through graduate entry. is there anyone who are studying dentistry after getting a degree in dental technology? if so what other qualification do you need? how long is the course for dental tech graduates?

my other option is going abroad but I would like to study in uk if possible.

If you have a degree in dental technology or are in your final year (in September 2022 to apply for 2023 entry) you have the option of applying for graduate entry dentistry which is 4 years long. You can also apply for the standard undergraduate entry but you will receive less funding for the latter option.

Have a look at these two links which outline requirements for graduate for both grad and undergrad entry. *Please note that details haven’t been updated so check everything with the university website, these links are just to give you an idea of what’s available to you.

Hi, I’m not sure if you’re going to see this but I’m wanting to do the exact route as you. I start my dental technology course in September and I’m wondering have you graduated and attending dental school. If possible can you give a little update or some advice or even privately message me! Thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m a graduate entry dental student but I didn’t do dental tech. There is someone on my course who has done dental tech though! Generally you should be good to apply to any course - a specific graduate entry one or an undergrad that accepts students who already have a degree, but you will need to have a BSc in dental tech not a diploma. Feel free to reach out if you have anything else I can help with!

hii. im doin a BSc in dental tech at the moment, trying to get into dent. ive seen some ppl get rejected from UCLAN for grad entry with this degree as apparently theres not enough science content studied.. Any way u can find out from the uni if theyll accept it?
