HPV vaccine

I got a letter the other day from the NHS (but addressed from my GP) about the HPV vaccine saying i have to make an appointment so I called them up. They told me they weren't doing it and that it is done via my college (which it shouldn't be becuase i'm 17) Called up the partner surgery next town over and the nurses haven't have the course to administer them. The helpline said it would be next year! Anyone had it or is having trouble getting it? Feel like I should get it and I want to know why they're showing the adverts and sending letters when I can't get it! Sorry it's a bit long
Its not long

I'm not having it (no money/too old im 20 i might next year when i got money for it).

Could you not talk to your doctor make an appointment to see him and ask him what he says and if you can have it done there? If not talk to the nurses and ask them if you can have it done there.

It seems to be a pointless with the advertising if it cant be done. Dont give up on having it done though

costs a fair bit if you're over 18 i think, will try and get it but by the time they get round to doing it at college, I'd have left for uni

Yeah you should get it at collage, I did. Ask in the office/ sixth form office if they know when your getting it. The letter I got sent was from my sixth form..... you are guanteed to get it so dont worry. If you have no luck you could always ring the helpline and ask when your area will be immunised

P.s Are you not in collage anymore??? If your not i'm pretty sure you can get it done at a school/ collage near you beacuse there were people there (when I got mine done) that no longer attended sixth form

If you are 17 or 18 there is a new scheme in place which means you get the vaccine through your college, as well as Year 8.
Oh my gosh, its hell trying to get an answer from GPs and clinics near me. After sooo many phone calls, I was finally told that I would be notified when I could make an appointment, and that I was to call back in January if I still hadnt received any information on it. Bloody useless NHS.
I asked my GP about it but they said theres problems with it yet so they're not doing it. Plus I wouldn't pay for it anyway at the moment. I'm too old anyway to get it without a fuss so I'm not going to think too much about it if theres problems. Sounds like it won't be for a while.

I'm 20 as well, but they won't give me it free even though my mum got cervical cancer when she was 25. ANNOYING
