you taught her right? So I guess this is kind of ur grade too...
Grade 8

Medicine in Britain
Early Elizabethan England
Weimar and Nazi Germany
Superpower relations and the Cold War

I enjoyed all of the topics, but learning all the dates for the Cold War got a bit annoying during revision.

Grade 9.

I studied medicine through time, Henry Viii and his ministers, Weimar and Nazi Germany and the American west 1835-1895. I enjoyed medicine and Germany, Henry viii was a bit meh, and the American west sucked.

She had a self-study course for History from Absorb Online Learning.

Basically online text based information to read, combined with some videos, and then quizzes to do after each topic.

You have a mock paper which is marked by a tutor, but otherwise there's very little tutor involvement.

As it was Tutor Assessed Grades last year, she also had another paper as well sent over from Absorb which she had to do in timed exam conditions.

I helped her revise for a few weeks in the run up to her papers, (I sat with her for about 7 hours a day for around three weeks, and we went through Biology, Maths, and History revision) but mostly she self studied those three using the courses.

I had more involvement with her Classical Civilisation as she had no external course for that one, and she got a grade 9.

wow online self study with no class mates or a proper teacher sounds a bit miserable
I don't think I could ever motivate myself to work for a GCSE like that lol
