Yeah you were all right andypoo or whatever your name is and that other one who said my point wasn't serious seems ok . . . if a little uptight. Do you lot go there already? I have an offer for 2009 to do Ancient History. Bet thats full of mongs.

pics or you're a mong too

Reply 22

andypoo?

funny, thanks.

And there was me thinking that us students have to get in horrendous amounts of debt to be educated...

Surely your point is essentially flawed, OP. Whether you get good looking people is entirely down to luck. And if the most important thing you can ask is about the lads, then I think you need to get your priorities straight.

what pics of me?

Reply 25

Look I get my post seemed shallow. I just wanted to know if there were any fit guys here. I don't get why you are all attacking me.

Reply 26

Because it's funny?

Especially now you called me andypoo; I've got no sympathy for you anymore.

Reply 27

omg chill out. I didn't mean it meanly. twas a pet name for you . . . like sugar tits or honeybun

Not you. You were alright. Those other ones were annoying. Anyway I do think it is just as serious as the other threads about boring stuff like money and societies. I mean if Royal Holloway is as isolated and crap like everyone says it sounds like all there is to do is well work but thats boring or . . . other people. Besides who wants to go to a university full of unattractive people? This will probably get more horrible replies but whatever.

Yep, (commences horrible reply....)

why dont you get your own priorities straight. what are you? Ron Weasley in the first Harry Potter film saying that Hermione, in this case me, needed to sort out her priorities.

Summarizing this:

1) You want sexy guys, so you probably consider yourself quite fit as well.
2) You want to flirt with them, so you obviously are not really shy.

So if you're such an attractive and extrovert person, surely it has appeared to you that you can flirt with people that are not studying your subject/not living in your hall/maybe not at uni at all?

Unless of course you definitely want the people you're going to lectures with to be supermodels because it makes your day better in some weird way...

Only one person I know is at Royal Holloway... and she's good looking... not like that helps much with the male side of things.

Best way, go to an open day and find out

Reply 32

Well I heard that Royal Holloway is all there is. Like its not in London and in some crappy town called Egplant or something like that so I figured the guys at the university was all there was.

Nah, every town will have a decent sized 18 - 25 population, even if it is a university town. There will be many guys in the surrounding area who don't just go to university.

http://www.rhul.ac.uk/ - looks a nice setting to me. Course, like everywhere, you don't show on your website the falling walls do you?

Don't know if you're in year 12 or 13, so that may not be much use if you are in Year 13.

Reply 38

I'm in year 13. I have my offer and everything but I haven't seen it yet. I think there is an open day in March so I'll just go to that.

Egplant, eh? It's Egham. It's about 30-45 mins to London by train, 10 mins by bus to Windsor and is home to about 6,000 students, most of which are white and a third or so from private/public schools. There's a small, but adequate town centre, with a reasonably active SU. There are bars and clubs in the local area which do RHUL only nights and give you discounts.
RHUL is typically thought of as the place where smart people go, who can't be bothered to work. The people are intelligent, but, generally, don't have their head stuck into a book constantly, although this varies from department to department.
Accomodation is generally friendly (if not loud...), with both single- and mixed-sex accomodation. Some of the newer accomodation has double beds, and a few accomodation buildings have common rooms.
At night in Founders, people tend to sit in the corridor with their friends (and sometimes laptops) as a form of entertainment when they do not wish to go to Crosslands, Medicine, Vanilla or the SU.
Generally, the people there are varied, but I have generally found the girls to be better looking than the boys - and this is the opinion of a straight girl. This may be because my course is female-dominated, and I've not met enough males to have a clear idea of how many are 'sexy'.
