Absolutely. Languages are useful in many professions. I have a degree in Chinese and Korean, and currently work as a Mandarin teacher in London. Before that I was working in a travel agency. You could also find work doing translation (may need a Master's degree though), journalism, hospitality, HR, copywriting, working in immigration and customs, companies which work with international clients etc. It depends on where your interests lie, but there are plenty of things you can do without needing to work in China or Japan.
