Hey there!
The nervous system works by sending nerve impulses which are very quick and efficient, but they don't last very long. Conversely, the endocrine system relies on chemical messengers in the blood. This tends to work a bit slower, but with much longer lasting results. Additionally, because they travel systemically, the endocrine hormones can work on multiple targets whereas the nerve impulses are generally more localized.
Hope that helps!
