How often do condoms break?

I'm really excited to have sex, but I'm worried the condom will break. How big is the chance the condom will break?

It's a rare occasion that it can break or leak.
But it can unfortunately happen....
So the chances are slim, but it's still quite possible, like 1 out of 10 times?

Yes very slim.

Could be 1 out of 50 but still a rare thing to happen.

Less than that.

Ensure it is properly put on (squeeze air out, rolled right down). Ideally use water based lube as a condom will generate more friction. Reapply lube if needed. Be gentle - real sex is not like the jackhammer intercourse you see in porn. Remove the condom as soon as the male has ejaculated. If you are carrying on then put on a new one.

As a rough guess we used them for 4 years and had 2 break, so well under a 1% rate for myself. You can generally tell as soon as it happens.
I've been having sex multiple times a week for the last 10 years with my spouse. Not a single one has broken.

Tbh though, it feels so much better without so if you're willing to take the pill and stay loyal, I'd recommend that. :smile:
