Hi, I am an a-level student in Thornhill College. I have a nursing and midwifery interview coming up at queens and I was just wondering as to what questions could I potentially be asked?

Any help would be greatly appreciate

Hi...
Obviously can't give you exact questions that you will be asked at the interview as you should hopefully be sent some information about what you are to revise and research for the interview.

I will give you some examples of what you could be asked okay.....

Why do you want to be a nurse or a midwife rather than say mental health or children nurse
What experience do you have of nursing as a career if any.
What do you think is a typical day for a nurse
What do you think will be most challenging about this course
What is the hardest part about being a nurse in the UK today
Are you interested in a specific area of nursing and if so why ( say you want to go into A&E or Renal as a qualified nurse then they asking you this ).
What media resources do you use to learn about nursing issues
Describe the role of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
The 6 C's of nursing
Nursing can be incredibly stressful; how do you cope with stress
Give an example of how you have worked well in a team
How would you help a patient who has been given bad news about their condition
Describe how you would deal with an angry and aggressive patient or there family relatives
How would you deal with the death of a patient you had a good relationship with and stay professional as a nurse at the same time with dealing with this situation.

Do your research on things and try not to be nervous but if you are nervous then don't worry as the interviewers will do there best to make you feel comfortable throughout.
The main thing is you answer the questions the up most best you can okay.
Ask them questions if you have any at the end.
