Genetic and Genomic Counselling MSc Cardiff University 2022 Applicants

hello all! I'm planning to apply for this year's entry and hope to find more like-minded students so I won't feel so alone haha
Hi! Unfortunately I didn’t get an interview (kind of expected, since I couldn’t get enough care hours) but I’ll be attempting again next year!!! I’m not so sure about the placement though..
The first time I applied, I did not get accepted to proceed with the interview. This year, I have been selected for the interview, so do not lose hope! Next time you might be nominated! Good luck!

Hey did you get an interview? also just wondering, do they do paid placement in second year?

Hey! I just had my interview a few days ago and they explained that second year placement is unpaid and we have to fund any travel / accommodation.

Hi everyone, I previouy considered a career in genetics counselling but at the time wasn't in a position to do an msc straight after my degree. Anyway I wanted to flag to people considering a career in genomics that there are lots of good opportunities in nhs England in this space (policy roles etc) so they are worth reading up about. Happy to answer any questions if anyone is interested in learning more
I feel very nervous waiting for the results. Anyone else is feeling the same?

Has anyone heard anything yet?
Hi they have emailed out interview outcomes ☺️
Hi, Did anyone manage to get through? What were your preferences for placement?

Hello! Yes I did manage to get an informal offer subject to placement. My ideal would be Leeds as that is where I am based, but I also put down Sheffield. How about you?
Hey, I was given a placement and sent an unconditional offer last week. Looking forward to starting the teaching block this month! Was wondering if anyone else is currently looking for accommodation in Cardiff, please private message me xx
Hello all, I was wondering just by a long shot to ask those of you already on the course about the structure.
I am considering applying but wondering how to juggle everything with family commitments etc.

How long are the face to face teaching blocks?
How have you found the online learning? Any advice would be great!

Thank you so much
