Hi there.

Not a dumb Q at all - it tends to be included in your accommodation fees but it's best to double check uni accommodation websites and look for "utilities included in accommodation price" or words to that effect :smile:

It's worth double-checking your accommodation agreement, but in general I'd expect your accommodation fees in halls of residence (or similar) to include energy costs. (By "similar" I mean purpose-built blocks of flats.)

It's possible in this more energy-efficient world that accommodation providers are doing submetering at the flat level, to identify anomolously high usage. So don't take the view that "my electricity is included in my rent so I can run crypto-mining kit 24/7".
