I’m strongly considering taking AS level Computer Science this year 9618 CAIE. Since paper 2 has 4 modules as oppose to 8 (paper 1), I want to try and take paper 2 ONLY. Can I enter and do paper 2 without having learnt Paper 1 content or does Paper 1 act as a prerequisite to paper 2 in terms of knowledge

Thanks

I know this is late, but I believe you can sit paper 2 separately. However to complete the AS level you have to sit both papers - just sitting paper 2 will not allow you to receive an as level certificate.

As for the knowledge, yes the theory of paper 1 is a perquisite, however if you manage to understand the content for paper 2, then you should be somewhat fine.

Hope this helps despite being late!
