Hardy weinberg question a level biology

i started this then found out how to work it out, ill post it anyway for people that might need help

A population of this species of plant contained 9% of red-flowered plants.

Use the Hardy–Weinberg equation to calculate the percentage of pink-flowered plants in this population.

Show your working

9%= 0.09
square root 0.09= 0.3 (p)
p+q= 1 so q=0.7
2pq= heterozygous = 2(0.3 x 0.7)= 0.42 x100= 42%
