Does anyone have a question bank for the us questions?
Evaluate the extent to which the Supreme Court is now an ‘imperial judiciary’.
Evaluate the view that US foreign policy is dominated as much by Congress as by the presidency.
Evaluate the view that the presidential power of persuasion is the most significant influence on the policies and ideas of political parties.
Evaluate the view that the main factors affecting voting behaviour in Congress are the divisions within and between the political parties
Evaluate the view that the US Constitution ensures that civil rights are effectively protected by the Supreme Court
Evaluate the view that campaign finance is the most significant factor in determining the outcome of congressional elections.
Evaluate the extent to which Congressional oversight of the President is ineffective.
Evaluate the view that the effective working of the US Constitution depends more on interest groups than the Supreme Court.
Evaluate the view that the constitutional system of checks and balances is an obstacle to effective government.
Evaluate the view that the growth in presidential power has led to a corresponding decline in federalism
Evaluate the view that the effective working o f the US Constitution depends more on interest groups than the Supreme Court
Evaluate the extent to which racial equality has been advanced in the 21st century.
Evaluate the view that the procedures for electing US presidents and members of Congress are not fit for purpose.
Evaluate the view that presidential appointments to the Supreme Court ensure it is a political body rather than a judicial one.
Evaluate the view that affirmative action has been more significant than minority participation in Congress in promoting racial equality
Evaluate the view that the legislative process is more effectively influence by pressure groups than political parties.
Evaluate the extent to which pressure groups perform useful functions in US politics

quite nervous ngl, they barely cut anything down for this paper so it's going to be a tough one narrowing it down - but then again, this is how every other year felt lmao

I feel the exact same way. So difficult because you don't know the depth required for each point so you need such wide ranging knowledge

I think they can, as well as questions over how each party has changed/stuck to their ideology

Pleasantly excited, the supreme court seems as if it will be a 30 marker simply because of how the British Supreme Court was in paper 2. But, it is still possible for it to be involved in any of the 12 markers for comparative.

Sorry, I don't follow. Surely it being in Paper 2 means its less likely to be in paper 3?

The advanced information has excluded the SC from 12 markers

This is one of my plans, but I would love everyone to let me know what they think

Evaluate the view that campaign finance is the most significant factor in determining the outcome of congressional elections.

For
The person who raises the most money, often has the advantage
Example: Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock outrased their respective Republican incumbents by $50 million each, and they both won
Money helps mobilise turnout
Example: Republicans spent $60 million on digital adverts reminding voters to go and vote, which no doubt helped Republican incumbents win.
Money helps pay for adverts to spread their message
Example: In Georgia, over $500 million was spent on media adverts for the runoff elections

Against:
In states which are deeply ideological, fundraising will not matter
Example: In Kentucky, Amy Mcgrath raised $94 per vote, compared to McConnell’s $34 per vote. However, Kentucky is a very safe red state, with Donald Trump running on the ticket, so he lost.
On the ground organisation to mobilise voters is more important than money
Example: Stacey Abrams’ organisations helped register 800,000 voters in Georgia in 2020, helping Democrats make gains.
A strong message is more important than the amount of money spent spreading that message.
Example: In Florida’s 27th District, in the Miami-Dade county, Maria Salazar won despite being outspent, due to her message attacking the Democrats on being socialist.

This paper is going to be the death of me
Me too! I have already accepted that it's going to be my worse paper. Our school just rushed through it to get to the end, we hardly have concise notes on some topics and it feel too rushed. Wished they cut down more on Paper 3 than 1 and 2. If anything I have more notes and understanding from lockdown topics than I do the US! (*゜ー゜*)
