Hi everyone, if anyone wants to apply in for the STP in Wales, applications have just opened. It’s a different process in Wales as you apply through NHS jobs (go to NHS jobs and search for Trainee Clinical Scientist and lots of posts will come up for all the different specialisms). I finished the STP in Audiology in North Wales in 2019 and now work as a Band 7 Clinical Scientist. Happy to answer any questions that people may have.

Thanks for the heads up! I don’t see a Microbiology post available- wondering if they’ll add one at some point or if they’re just not recruiting for micro this year

Hello, just a few questions as I've only just today found out about this training programme.
I've applied for the 'normal' STP and been longlisted, is there anything preventing me from applying to the NHS Wales STP too?
I hear we can apply to 2 specialisms, is it a case of two separate application forms on Trac or is it one form and we just specify which ones I'd like to apply to?
And finally just to confirm we apply on Trac/NHS jobs and not Oriel?
Many thanks

Hi all, I'm looking to apply for STP posts in Wales. Looking for tips on writing an application as previously have not been successful in my attempts to secure an interview.
Can anyone clarify this statement please ' You may apply for up to 2 specialisms. Your supporting information must be relevant to both specialisms if you choose to apply for more than one.' This has confused me a little and I'm not quite sure how to approach the application as I'm hoping to apply for 2.
Any help is much appreciated. Ta

Hey! I'm also hoping for an answer about applying for 2 specialisms, it is definitely on trac though

It says something like "your supporting information must be relevant to both specialisms" I'm interpreting that as "you must pick two closely aligned specialisms" rather than it meaning we need to copy-paste our supporting info but I wasn't too sure

Hi. I’ve been shortlisted for the STP in Neurophysiology. Could you tell me anything about the interview please? I’m trying to overprepared as my degree and MSc are Psychology-based so I figure I have to try a little harder than those with straight science degrees! Thanks in advance 🙏

Hi there! I’ve also got an interview for the Welsh programme but not heard back from the English one. I assume she therefore means the Welsh programme? I’m so nervous! This is my third year I’ve applied and first time I’ve got an interview!

Hi lovely! I applied to neurophysiology! Have you applied too? I also applied to clinical pharmaceutical science for NHS wales as you were allowed to apply to more than one specialism and I like both! But for England I just applied for neurophys as my background is in neuroscience so I thought I’d have a better chance of getting onto that programme (especially given how competitive it is). Reality is I’d be happy with either and happy to move anywhere for it! Xx

Good luck! Is that for wales or england? Either way I'm sure you'll hear back soon. I read on the NHS England twitter that shortlisting will be announced this friday. As for wales I assume it'll be soon given that I've heard back for one of my applications. Best wishes
