Aston Vs uea Placements

Hello
I received offers from aston University(Msc Information system and business analysis) and University of East Anglia ( Msc business analytics)
I like both courses and universities.the only thing that's bugging me is the placements.
Which of the two universities has better placements?
And also the career prospects for both these courses?
Aston University has courses like Global advantage which could help in the placements. I have no idea about uea though
I need to accept the offer soon..If anyone has any idea please let me know asap

Thank you

Hey @Carbonated231

Congratulations on your offers, that's amazing! I understand choosing between universities can be a difficult and daunting thing. Have you been invited to one of our applicant days? This is a great way to come and find out more of the specifics on your course and chat to lecturers and staff. I attended an applicant day the year I commenced study and it really helped reaffirm to me that I wanted to come to UEA. It left me feeling really eager for September to start which was incredibly valuable considering I was a little nervous about coming to uni!

As it sounds like it would be of interest to you, I'd like to share that we have an amazing careers service here at UEA with a wonderful team of people and rescourses that can help you with placements and your career both during and post study. One style of appointment they do is Placement and Internship coaching, and this includes appointments that can provide support with each of the placement stages. From learning about the placement year overall to finding opportunities! I've used them myself and they're incredibly helpful.

If you have any questions at all about UEA, or being a student in Norwich, please do just let me know and I'd be happy to help. We'd love to welcome you into our community!

Best wishes,

I have also heard that the course I am planning for (Msc Business Analytics) is not accredited. Does it affect on the placements? And also I couldn't find any students for my course on unibuddy. Could you tell me how many students on average are enrolled in the course?

Hi there,

First of all congratulations on your offers! They are both great universities. People often struggle to pick a university, especially when they don't know what qualities are important to them. But you seem to have identified these for yourself which is a step in the right direction.
Let me give you some information about Aston's degree to help you make your choice.
The Information Systems and Business Analysis MSc course at Aston has been developed in collaboration with Aston's industry partners. This ensures that you're provided with the specialist skills needed for business analysis and information system roles, which in turn will enhance your employability.

You’ll also be able to tailor the course to suit your career ambitions by choosing from a range of elective modules, which cover specialist areas of business analytics, ICT or complimentary business subjects. Throughout the course, you'll be offered opportunities to gain practical experience through things such as consultancy projects and entrepreneurial opportunities. And in your third term, you’ll have the choice of studying abroad or pursuing a work placement internship. You get to choose a company of your choice, in the UK or overseas, and spend from one month to 12 months gaining valuable work experience. This will be able to give you a competitive edge in the job market. Aston's award-winning careers team ( Best University Careers/Employability Service- NUE Awards 2020) will be on hand to help you find work placements and graduate positions. The team are also available to assist you with your CV and interview technique.
Aston University has strong links with national and international organisations with over 200 employers interacting with students on campus each year. The course also offers an opportunity to study a second degree at one of Aston's international partner institutions once you have completed your year at Aston.

Hope this has helped.
