GCSE biology help

What is the function of cytoplasm?
It's where most chemical reactions take place
can someone give me an model answer please?
You could say, “it’s the site of chemical reactions” or “the site of cell activity”
"Gel-like substance where most of the chemical reactions happen and controls enzymes"
Is this definiton correct?

According to BBC bitesize, the definition for GCSE biology is “A jelly-like material that contains dissolved nutrients and salts and structures called organelles. It is where many of the chemical reactions happen.”
Can I say:"Gel-like substance where most of the chemical reactions happen and controls enzymes"
