hi, i wish to apply to UofT for Mathematics and Physics joint honours course. Anyone doing maths or physics at UofT? What are the grade requirements for the course? On their website it says generally B or above is preferred in all your A-Levels...so is ABB fine?
Also can anyone help me fill out the OUAC 105F form...completely lost as to where should i put my a level grades and subjects.
Thanks

I'm a senior (Grade 12) student in Canada right now. If anyone has any questions about applying to any Canadian school, feel free to ask me!

Just thought I would let everybody know:

I have been accepted to McGill for Arts and Management. I know the cut-off for management is 93% this year (Canadian grades), and only 600 people were accepted out of a pool of over 5000 (12% acceptance rate). I haven't heard back from Toronto yet; I applied to Woodsworth College for Humanities. Other schools I have applied to and heard back from - Accepted! - are: Queen's (Arts), Waterloo (Arts and Business Co-op, Geography and Aviation, Geomatics Co-op), Western Ontario (Kinesiology). Other schools I have applied but not heard back from are: Queen's (Commerce) and McMaster (Kinesiology).

Anyone apply to the same schools/programs? Would love to know!

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or concerns!:smile::smile:

Hi! I'm considering learning geomatics in Canada. How is UW's geomatics? How did you decide which school to apply to for geomatics?

Does UW have a good reputation for academic research or employability? Are related internships plentiful (since UW has plenty of cs-related internships)? Thanks in advance

Hey guys, So I will be doing my year abroad starting this coming August/September and was wondering what to do in terms of accommodation. Would it be better to stay on-campus or off-campus ? I really don't like the idea of being in a double room, I'm pretty sociable and like going out to bars and clubs etc so feel like I would be waking up my roommate quite a lot plus it would be pretty awkward being a girl back. I have gotten friendly with a few Canadian guys my age who are transferring to Carleton and looking to get a house, but maybe being off campus being an exchange student I would be out of the loop of things. Can anyone give me any advice please

It really depends on which university you are going to. Some campuses are pretty small with a close-knit community while other campuses are huge with a lot of commuters. Personally, it would be a nice experience to stay on-campus, since you'll be able to meet a lot of people, but then it would be less of a financial burden if you live off-campus.

I doubt you'll be in a double room. When I went abroad to Canada the double rooms were only for freshers, but they had halls for other years too, so I was in a very nice 4 bed flat with two bathrooms and a kitchen and living room.

Being on campus is great for getting to know people more and just ease of things IMO.

At Carleton they seem to be the only university that doesn't guarantee exchange students accommodation. The reason I don't think I will get a single room is because like many of the exchange students going to Carleton I've talked to we are just on the accommodation waitlist, so we will be given just whatever becomes available

Hi, I'm expecting my A-level results this August and I'm predicted ABB, I'm supposed to start at the University of Exeter this September but I'm also keeping Canada as an option if I either miss my offer for Exeter and get a BBB instead or choose to take a year off working and apply for September 2016 at University of Toronto, McGill, York and Queens.

Does anyone have a slight idea of what my chances might be of getting into those unis? Because I checked A-level requirements for each of those and they're quite vague, mostly saying they want three A-levels, and I don't know if that just means passes or...

Also is it harder to get in if you've taken a year off??

To be honest with you they probably just want passes. Its really easy to get into Canadian universities for undergrad. Canada isn't selective for the most part like the UK, only some programs are highly selective and they tend to be distributed randomly, every uni is know for something usually.

Thank you!! But I'd have to take a year off so I can apply for next september (or maybe just a couple months if I can apply for the January winter term) so do you know if me taking a year off maybe working or something would lower my chances or nah???

Nah. Canadian unis just don't care, for undergrad they will likely just look at your grades and nothing else.
