I don't drink or go clubbing, but I don't want to live somewhere that's too quiet as well. I was wondering if endcliffe or ranmoor would be the best to apply for?

I'm a bit concerned on how I'll fit in as well since I don't drink.
You'll be fine:smile:

Hi I've applied for Crewe flats and I'm in a flat of nine and there's just 3 of us at the moment and neither of us drink or go out
You could look into it. I'm in flat E
It's about 5 mins from the main encliffe site so easy to see people but also quiet and reviews say it has a close knit community
Would be nice to have you in our flat

You'll be ok even if you don't drink. There are plenty of societies to join at uni so you're guaranteed to fit in!.

I drink but I don't go clubbing, and I'm going for endcliffe just because I prefer the overall feel :-)
Don't worry, you'll definitely be able to find people to fit in with as long as you make an effort to socialise - join societies etc.

similar situation - i am happy to drink a little/go out a bit but clubbing and endless nights out are not my scene. im social but don’t particularly want to be stuck in a flat with people who come back at 3am drunk ahah! im hopefully doing medicine in sheffield in september, so need to be somewhere quiet-ish because of the workload, but just don’t want to be too isolated. the people who gave tours on offer holders day seemed lovely and very friendly, so don’t be too worried about fitting in! ranmoor/endcliffe is a massive amount of students, so you’ll find your crowd. it’s nice to know there’s others in a similar situation

Hi there! I was in ranmoor last year and it’s waaaaaay quieter than endcliffe (not completely quiet but normal compared to endcliffe lol), so if you’re not the partying type I’d definitely recommend ranmoor

Crewe flats is pretty nice as well. Quieter than endcliffe but close enough to not feel like you’re missing out. I had a friend who lived there last year and really liked it. It’s super tight knit and quite easy to get to know everyone because of the way the flats are arranged

Wherever you end up I don’t think you’ll be at a disadvantage for not drinking, people are quite understanding and as long as you get out in freshers week(doesn’t have to be clubbing or anything like that) you’ll meet your people in no time

Thanks! I've actually applied for Crewe flats yesterday so I think it's sorted since I had unconditional offer anyways

hi - since you were in ranmoor last year, do all the rooms/bathrooms/social spaces/kitchens look the same in every block in ranmoor? on the offer holders day, they only showed us one endcliffe room and kitchen. are there any ranmoor blocks that are particularly nice/modern or that have slightly bigger kitchens? i enjoy cooking and the endcliffe kitchen they showed us was tinyyyy and was not big enough for 6 people! thank you

Hi! For ranmoor the rooms and bathrooms are pretty much the same in every block (I imagine this is the same for endcliffe too), the only difference is the wall colours. If you get put in a flat of 6 in ranmoor (the kitchens are tiny wherever you end up in endcliffe) the communal area and kitchen are quite big , but if you get put in a flat of 12 the communal area/ kitchen is significantly smaller - the flat across from me was a flat of 12 and they struggled to find space for all of their things in the kitchen. If you want a bigger kitchen space a flat for 6 in ranmoor is probably the best option - I think it has the biggest kitchen/communal area out of all the accommodations!

In terms of being modern I think all the blocks are pretty good - the only thing was in my block (wimberry) my room overlooked a little foresty area so was permanently dark :frown: but I don’t imagine you’d have that issue anywhere else in ranmoor

Hi, I don't really drink either but don't want to be boring, and I'll be living in Windgather in Ranmoor next year. Only two of us in the flat at the moment. There seems to be a quite a few people in Ranmoor who want some fun but a decent balance

I've applied for Crewe. It is supposed to be a bit quieter than other locations but pretty social as well.

Good luck!
