Housemates won't let me find a replacement tenant so I have to stay in the house

Hi, I currently rent a house with some other students. I signed a contract for next year, and a few months ago I wanted to leave - to this I was told I couldn't because they don't want to live with someone they don't know. One of them has anxiety. Which I thought was a bit ridiculous because if any of them wanted to leave I wouldn't stop them. They said I could go live in some other accommodation but continue to pay rent here. I can't find someone because if I do they need to sign to agree to it.
I understood that and now two of the tenants are leaving for next year and it looks like they still haven't found anyone. Again I'm not allowed to find someone because she has anxiety and will only accept someone she knows. She said if we don't find someone we could split the cost of two rooms, which is a lot of money and I don't feel like I should have to pay this. I understand she has anxiety but I don't want to pay an extra £200 or even more for empty rooms. They are being incredibly slow with finding new tenants and there's nothing I can do.
Not sure what to do now, yes I know I signed it but all of this is getting unfair now. How do I go about this, I don't want to seem like an ******** by saying she can go pay for empty rooms herself yet I can't do anything. Thank you

Seems like a sticky situation, I would look for a replacement tenant and get in contact with the landlord, also look into the details of your contract. If it states that you can find a replacement tenant , then the rest really cannot do anything unless they are looking to pay for the rooms.

Thanks. Trouble is once I find a replacement they need to sign to agree
