I am planning to apply for a Ph.D. program in Politics/National Security but am confused about which research topic to choose?
You, as a person outside the Middle East, what are the most well-known and important political and security issues about the Middle East, and particularly the (Persian/Arabian) Gulf region?
What do you think of these topics, for example:
- Gulf-Israeli relations: motives and challenges.
-The Iranian nuclear program and the arms race in the Middle East?
-China in the Middle East
-The National Security of Small Countries in a Changing World: The UAE as a Model
-China's emergence as a major international power
