Someone just smashed my windows for no reason.

Hi I’m really scared. Someone just smashed all the windows for literally no reason. I only just came to the uk so didn’t upset anyone.

People who have cctv shows him running directly to our house

What do I do I don’t want it to happen again

You can report criminal damage to the police here:

I can’t afford new windows and fear it will happen again. The landlord is saying it’s my fault but it isn’t as I did nothing to make it happen

That's what the landlords insurance is for. You aren't liable for criminal damage for the property.

Are they just guessing that you've upset people? What a dork.

Yes :frown: all I do is go to college then back home I have extreme anxiety which stops me from talking to anyone. I literally have 0 friends because of it so I could of never upset anyone - the only thing I can think of is that it’s wrong house which still isn’t fair on me.

Update: the police still hasn’t done anything and I still don’t have windows I can stick my hand through them all

You need to follow this up with your landlord. Let him know the building isn't secure until he gets a glazier out, (ps. it's likely invalidating any insurance policy until it's sorted too).
If they are on CCTV then surely something can be done?
Unfortunately you seem to have been unfortunate enough to have suffered criminal damage to the windows of your rental accomodation at the hands of at least one of the uk's many louts or lunatics. :frown:
Alas the uk has a widespread problem with criminal damage and other antisocial behaviour targeting other people's homes, vehicles, business premises, graveyards and bus stops. :mad2:

The landlord is responsible for ensuring that the rental property is fit for human habitation throughout your tenancy.
You can contact Shelter via webchat for some free specialist advice, they are available from Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm except on bank holidays and this is the link.

Did the police provide you with a crime reference number?
Did you notify the landlord in writing of the criminal damage to the windows, provide photos and let the landlord know that you need the windows repaired as soon as possible?
Are you on a fixed term tenancy with the rent paid monthly or upfront in advance?
Can you afford to pay a professional to do the repairs?
Then either get reinbursed by the landlord, the landlord's insurance company or come to an agreement to deduct the costs from the rent.
There is also a procedure where tenants can arrange minor repairs without the landlord’s agreement and then take the cost out of their rent.
