If you specifically want to develop software, I'd go for Software Engineering. However, Computer Science gives you more flexibility.

Build something cool like a robot and then invite yourself to your local software house for the day :biggrin: That's what I did and I get to spend the summer hols working part time in one of their teams as a junior software engineer. I'm slightly nervious that I won't be good enough but hey I got this far so it's better than nothing I guess.

The only other thing I had was a github profile but really I think if you have the enthusiasm then yeh you can get your foot in the door.
