weight loss and getting fit at uni

i’m starting uni in september, is it a bad idea to put a fair amount of my focus into going to the gym and eating right considering i’m gonna be busy with freshers etc
Nah you should start getting fit now because you're not gonna have time for it once uni starts. And it takes half a year to build your body up to a decent level of fitness.

Once uni starts all you have to do is a tiny amount of exercise each week to maintain it.

i’m working at a summer camp for the next few months so i’ll only have control of my diet - no time or access to the gym till september
"Busy with freshers"?

If you want to find excuses why you can't possibly exercise, you'll always be able to. If you actually want to get fit, go get fit. Start tomorrow. I'd say start today, but there's not much of today left.

I'm sure you will have 15 minutes a day at summer camp to go for a run.

That sounds like the perfect opportunity to get fit

Depends how much time you're putting into studying + socialising + sleep + gym + daily chores + part time job if you have one. If it's a demanding course you gotta make sacrifices somewhere lol.

If you're already fit before starting uni you can spend more time on all the other stuff because it takes less effort to maintain than build fitness. You have way less responsiblities before starting uni so it's better to put more effort into fitness then.
