(Original post by curiousappa)Thanks @IBkidinthecorner.
Yes I am domestic student living in England and finished all my schooling right from Nursery to upper sixth as a UK citizen.
Thanks for your information.
Have a great day evening.

If it helps I got an offer with 3060 SJT 1, so just lower than you. I had no contextual, less work experience and lower grades, but still managed to get in the first batch of interviews.

I imagine you have a good chance.

@Henikin @IBkidinthecorner did they delayed the Offer due to the admin issues upto June or July this year.
I heard they had the same issue last three years
Lot of people saying about this and making me worry
Please let me know if you also had this problem.
Thanks

Yes, I interviewed in November and heard back two weeks before the UCAS deadline for university responses. A few people had the same issues.

I found not knowing if I had the offer or not a bit off putting and worried me about the uni. That is one of the reasons I rejected KCL in the end.

Thats great to know you guys had early Interview and offer before mid may. Some people in my school got offers 3 days before the deadline. They had a score of 2890 to 2950 with Band 1 and all A* And All 9 in GCSE.
Is it also matter when u submit your UCAS to get early interview or is it based on yr UCAT score?
How is the teaching quality in Kings so far ?

I heard Southampton university giving free accomodation from the 4th year onward in hospital placements in hospital accomodation for the medical students. This is new to me.
Is it same with Kings
Please advice
Thank you

Nope, the date of submission has no bearing on interview date. I think some of the high-scorers did get interviews early, but I wasn’t really tracking it to be honest. Have a read through of the 2022 entry thread and see what people said there.

I think being given free accommodation while on placement is standard practise at UK med schools. Certainly King’s and Newcastle both mentioned it at offer holder events.

I think the teaching quality at KCL is good so far; we learn primarily through lectures, with tutorials, lab sessions, dissections and workshops included in the timetable. Lectures are run in person, but are recorded so we can listen to them in our own time as well. I like the way the course is structured, with a focus on anatomy, clinical practise and cell biology during first year before we have placements from second year onwards

Thanks for the information @IBkidinthecorner
I was started panicking as the medical students in Southampton started saying kings do send really late offers and their teaching quality is not that great and they let you do everything on your own etc.
Its clear now that's not true.
Seems like their total application for A100 in 2022 went over 4000 while comparing to their previous years which was 2853.
I am glad you guys made it with high competition.
I hope this is not the case in 2023 intake.

Oh wow I haven’t looked at their applicant stats for last cycle - that’s quite an increase! Ofc I’ve only been a student here for two proper weeks, but I feel well supported so far and I hope that continues to be the case in the future. I think it’s luck of the draw with King’s admissions honestly. If you want somewhere super transparent with interview and offer dates, you’d be better off with Sheffield, Bristol or Newcastle, so it’s really up to you if you want to take the risk

@IBkidinthecorner @Henikin what's the interview style in kings?
Is it MMI in person or Group task 10min and panel task 25 minute like Southampton does.
I dont want to be far from my home in east of england.
I was thinking
Imperial, UCL, kings, Southampton or imperial, UCL, Kings and Sheffield
Between Sheffield and Southampton which is better insurance option.
I know Sheffield give 5 points on 9th MMI station and they use UCAT on after interview but it's like over 200 year old and I have to change train to twice to get to Sheffield which is around 2 hour 49 minutes. Southampton university campus is really nice and better ranking and staff
Please advice

Last cycle it was online panel with MMI style questions, but I have no idea if they’re keeping it the same this year. If you post a full breakdown of your stats to
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7102578&page=387 we’ll be able to advise further. Your choices are quite risky as you won’t know your BMAT score before you apply, so you would potentially be wasting two choices if your BMAT goes awry. Rankings mean nothing for UK clinical medicine, so go with whichever uni you prefer of Sheffield and Southampton
