Uni of Sheffield or Uni of Birmingham?

I’m starting Uni in Sept and will be studying Psychology but can’t decide whether to go to Sheffield or Birmingham. I’ve visited them both and like them both for different reasons so just wanted some help deciding.

The main factors i’ve been looking at are night life, sport facilities, societies, accommodation, the course, the city, transport, student satisfaction etc.

Any advice or opinion would be really helpful as I need to decide soon! (I also need to decide accommodation so any advice on that as well would be great!)

Hey mkirby29, 👋

It's great to hear you are considering Sheffield for your psychology degree!

We are in the top 20 in the UK for psychology, and the BSc is a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited course, meaning you will be eligible for graduate membership the first step to becoming a chartered psychologist, and it is necessary for further courses in clinical, health and occupational psychology. 🤩

You can also gain practical experience by completing a short part-time work placement and making a real contribution to the local community, or you can opt to spend a full year on placement! 🙉

Studying in Sheffield is great; I did my BA, MA and now PhD all here in Sheffield because it is such a great city with so much going on, and the community here at the university is so friendly and welcoming. 💫

Please let me know if you have any specific questions about studying and living in Sheffield. Alternatively, you can reach out to current psychology students via our chat to our students webpage. 😀

All best wishes,
Phoebe
