"Advisory" word count?

The specification for Edexcel A level English literature states the coursework NEA "advisory word count". If I exceed the word count not by much, will I be docked marks, or is that acceptable since it says "advisory" and not "limit"? Thank you!

Heyy. My English teacher said its alright as long as its only 10% over. Eg. If the word limit is 4000 words, try not to go over 4400. The risk with going over is that your essay may not be considered as "concise" or "controlled". Hope this helps!!
