The Student Room Group

Recommended programme by the Selector

Hello everyone!

3 months ago, I applied to LSE for 2 different master programmes and got rejected.

Yesterday, I received an E-Mail that says :

"Further to your application we are writing to you with more information.

The Selector has now recommended that you apply for X programme. You may wish to upload a new personal statement aimed at this programme. No fee is required for this choice. Please complete this form if you wish to be considered for this programme."

Did anyone receive something like this? Does that mean, if I apply for this programme, I will get an offer? I heard that in some schools, if you get a rejection, they can offer you a different program. However it takes 1-2 days. I received an e-mail after 3 months. Can someone please give me some info! Has anyone experienced something like this?

Thanks so so much!

Hi, it seems like there are more people experiencing the same thing this year than before. I talked to a guy who talked to an AO, he said the AO think your resume looks fine, however it doesn't match your choice of programme, so they offer you a suggestion. There should have two rounds of examination of application, one round for the school, one round for the programme, when submitting the recommended choice, you don't have to go through the school's consideration, which should make your application process faster.

I hope that will give you some information about where you are, however I'm not sure if it is true for every programme.
