my vetting took 4 months that was my longest point i started my application stuff sept had interviews and medical oct/nov and vetting started december and didn't clear till april cause a bunch of family stuff was causing delays
all in all my process took about 9 months from application to start date
i knew some people who asked for later start dates and they were perfectly fine with it

What sort of family stuff caused your delay. I just submitted my vetting yesterday and I have a bunch of step siblings from my dads side that I know nothing about zero contact so I couldn’t provide anything other than there names. I am worried this will cause a delay in my vetting too.

Hi everyone, in the medical assessment what do they do, I wear glasses and I am blind without them. Will this affect my chances of passing the medical, also does it start on time cause I have a flight to catch after straight away. Do they give the results on the day? Thanks

To help anyone.. the medical assessment is very quick and simple please do not stress. You start with a hearing test you are placed in a booth and you will be given so chunky headphones you wear it and any time you hear a sound you press the button if you don't hear a sound you don’t press the button very simple. As for the eye sight you place your head infront of an eye sight machine thing then you have to read some letters in a row. After that you have to look straight ahead and tell them where you can see flashing white dots. Very simple don’t stress

Hello All,
If anyone has tips for the stage after the phone interview for the call handler role with London Met it would be really appreciated. (Hendon Assessment Centre)
So far I have been studying the values of London Met ie: Integrity, Impartiality, Transparency and Public service (Policing’s Competency and Values Framework)
From what I have been made aware there will be “a role play exercise designed to assess your verbal reasoning and communication skills” does anyone have any tips on this?
Also A typing test, any information on the layout / format of the typing test. Is it just words or a combination of words and numbers. How long does the typing test run for?
Thank you all in advance, all the best 😊

Hey! Sounds like you’re doing all the right prep already knowing the values and CVF is key. For the role play, focus on active listening, staying calm under pressure, and showing empathy while sticking to procedure. As for the typing test, it usually includes both words and numbers and lasts about 5 minutes. Accuracy is just as important as speed, so pace yourself. You’ve got this good luck!

Good Luck. Surely not too long to wait now your vetting is complete? 🤞🏻 Mine shouldn’t be too far behind now. Next step is telling my current employer once the offer is in. That won’t go so well as they will not be expecting it.

I can’t accept Bow/Lambeth as where I live the shifts don’t work with the public transport available 😣

I think I’m in a rush because I’m currently unemployed lol but Yh things can only go up from here. I think you might not have to start immediately so your employer should have enough time to find a replacement.

I don’t think the public transport don’t work where I live too but I’ll sort that out when I get the offer.

Good morning everyone,
So I will have my intake soon and I received an email with the starter pack. Inside that pdf was an email to send a Face ID photo for my ID staff pass. The email is: [email protected].
After many attempts the email keeps bouncing back and therefore I am wondering if anyone else is facing a similar issue.
Thanks

Heyy! I have my assessment upcoming soon, I’m super nervous about the whole stage 1-3, the typing test, I’m wondering how’s the layout or will be just type of a screen, could you share please? And the role play, is that part of stage 2? Isn’t stage 2 the stimulation test?

The typing skill doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect. It’s the speed they look at, try your best and yes the practice ones help

But they also look at errors you make? So this makes me nervous as I’m a fast typer but I do make mistakes

I submitted the vetting form ending of Jan and I got the email that it was cleared last week. I submitted my initial application in December, had my interview and medicals in Jan.

I had literally 99% same experience as you. Applied end of Oct, interview end of Nov, medical a week later in December, then Feb I got vetting form, and only just got my offer. Now, starting on 23rd June in Hendon. Completely and utterly way too long, but excited.

Aww good luck on your first day. Hopefully I get a start date soon as well.
