Are my a levels pointless

I’m currently doing history, film and media at a level, Im predicted to get A’s in all three and want to study history and politics at uni. Are my a levels pointless for this?

Many Humanities and Social Science courses do not require specific A level subjects - just grades.
Yes, you need to have done relevant reading and have enough awareness of the subject area to be able to write a convincing PS, but you do not need to have taken A level Politics to do a degree in Politics for instance.

Have a look at the subejcts available at these two Unis as examples - you'll be surpised how many degrees are just 'three grades' with no specific A level subjects rmentioned. There will also be subjects you may not be aware of - American Studies, Archaeology, Anthropology, Law, Philosophy, International Development, Irish Studies, Social Policy, 'Joint Honours', 'Combined Honours' etc etc.

Depends how good of a uni you want to go to?

You'll probably get an interview if applying Cambridge depending on your college. A-levels are defo important so focus on A-level Politics especially.
I revise using this TES shop selling notes and essay plans super useful

If you email them, they'll might sell whatever you want, sometimes offering personalised essay plans and stuff.
